“Learning is a bridge between people, purpose and offers a way to see the world in new ways.”

Service Learning
The opportunity to work alongside the 4 Walls masons to build homes is a lesson in hard work, masonry, and helps students to appreciate the intrinsic and often ignored basic need of safe and sturdy shelter. Students build houses, but it is the connection to the people that they remember.

Language Immersion
As part of a trip to Nicaragua, students or adults studying Spanish have the opportunity to learn in an environment where Google isn’t going to bail them out. El Sauce is a small town where the vast majority of people only speak Spanish. In partnership with The Enlace Project, English speaking students have the opportunity to partner with local students learning English, and school groups wishing to have a Spanish immersion experience have all sorts of options.

Cultural Immersion
El Sauce is not a tourist town. Student groups will get the opportunity to eat in restaurants, see the way business is done, and learn about how students, just like them, grow up and live their day to day lives. Salsa dancing with El Sauce teenagers is a learning experience every American student should have.

Safety
By partnering with the Enlace Project, Go Philanthropic and other non-profit organizations, travel to Nicaragua is done safely. As of right now, Covid-19 has prevented groups from travel, but this will change, and we hope to be bringing groups back to El Sauce in the future.
While travel is not possible, there are many other fundraising and cultural partnership opportunities available, so if you are interested in learning more about opportunities for students, please contact us find out more.
