A Rochester, NY organization changing the lives of families in the Nicaraguan town of El Sauce, one house at a time.
Our mission is to change lives of families in El Sauce, Nicaragua by building safe and sturdy homes for families in need. We do this by going beyond a simple donation to make connections between donors and Nicaraguan families, building better lives and a more caring world. A donation to 4 Walls directly impacts the lives of families, and in doing so, helps to impact the world.

Before Construction
Potential families are interviewed by a 7-member committee from the El Sauce community. The committee makes its decisions based on need. It works with the 4 Walls masons to coordinate construction of 4 Walls homes.

During Construction
Families must volunteer at least one person to help with the construction.

Finished Brick Home
Each 4 Walls home has a concrete foundation, brick walls, a window, door that locks and a sturdy metal roof with metal joists and beams.

Ready to Help!
It costs about $2500 to build a safe, sturdy, brick house in Nicaragua.
When needy families in El Sauce apply for a 4 Walls house. They must:
document that they own their property
identify the occupants of the house
provide a volunteer worker, usually a family member, to participate in the construction
As of December 2021, there are over 40 families approved and waiting for construction to begin.
